All events will have an online signup for the events using the site provided by the StateDirector for the Georgia Science Olympiad Organization.
The signup window is from 02/01/24 at 7:00pm to 02/28/24 at 11:59pm.
Notes for signing up for events:
- When signing up for a slot, enter your Team name (as registered with the State Director) in the comment box. This will be School name 1 or School name 2. For schools with multiple teams, the teams must be numbered 1 and 2. We do not accept team names other than a number after the school name (state rule), so no colors! Schools that bring multiple teams and do not specify a team number on the signup time will be removed from that time slot.
- All events will have a signup, including any events that have just a single slot. This allows to prepare for who will be competing in all events.
- Singup slots for some device events have less than 24 slots available when the signup system is opened. When all sltos have been filled, additional slots will be made available.
- Schools with more than one team must signup both teams in the same time slot. If teams from the same school are signed up in to different slots then the team in the second slot will not be allowed to compete.
The online sign-up system will allow you to sign-up, cancel, or swap with one another if you both agree (people who want to swap) during the sign-up period. You will not be able to swap slots after the sign-up period has ended.
Slots are given for each hour based on the time limit for each event, with a specific number of slots for each hour. Teams will turn up at the start of that hour slot for which they signed up for. The teams will be processed in the order that they arrived. Once the teams for that hour are processed, the event supervisors will return at the start of the next hour time slot. Teams who are not present by the time the last team is processed for that hour will be disqualified, even if they return within that hour time slot. They will not be allowed to compete in a different time slot. Teams must be present at the start of the hour time slot, and remain until they have competed.
Teams will only be allowed to compete at the times they signed up for. Teams who turn up at a different time to what is listed, or did not sign up for a time slot, will NOT be allowed to compete.
