Responsibilities:

Interacts with the State director and Schools. Responds to questions, clarifies rules, and disseminates event information to teams / schools.

Administrative duties relating to PC event site for schools / teams and the State Director.

Administrative duties relating to Minors on campus (for both Teams and for the PC event site).

 Post-tournament reports to State Director and Team Coaches.

Annual report to Department Chairs for LES and PS.

Manages this website.

Oversees all other TD's.

Judge on day of event if any team disputes anything in the event.

Attends State Director's meeting for SciLympiad.

 

 

 

 

Dean

Dr. Becca Falkenberg

Responsibilities:

Creates schedule appropriate for overlapping events, recruits event supervisors from multiple disciplines and colleges including Perimeter College LES, PS, Computer Science and Engineering Departments and recruiting volunteers from the Neuroscience Institute and the Graduate School, collects and reviews code of conduct forms from event supervisors.

Maintains list of event supervisors volunteering for each event in iCollege. Adds new event supervisors / removes old event supervisors on the iCollege site.

Event coordinator (checks in with event supervisors / reviewers, coordinates with exam TDs to get them reviewed, verifies final version of the exam).

Judge on day of event if any team disputes anything in the event.

Coordinates overall email / communication with all faculty / staff including information for recruiting PC students to volunteer at the olympiad.

Annual report to Department Chairs for LES and PS.

Attend sstate Director's meeting for SciLympiad.

 

April Bostian

 

Chair - Devices

Dr. April Bostian

Responsibilities:

Device reviewer for matching rules and regulations, prepares device locations with setup and take down.

Provides feedback to event supervisors for adjustments, reviews until meets requirements, coordinates event prep between event coordinators & lab supervisors, obtains any supplies needed by specific events. Must read and review content-specific information for all events.
 
Setting up device events and posting of signs around campus on Friday, taking down signs Saturday afternoon.

Judge on day of event if any team disputes anything in the event.

Vivian Mativo

Responsibilities:

Exam / device reviewers (requires 2 persons as for consensus) for 23 events. Must read and review content-specific information for all events.

Review event exams and/or devices for matching rules and regulations, provides feedback to event supervisors for adjustments, reviews until meets requirements, coordinates event prep between event coordinators & lab supervisors, obtains any supplies needed by specific events.

Judge on day of event if any team disputes anything in the event.

Brandi Childress

 

Associate Chair - Volunteers, Recruitment, Cafeteria Coordinator

Responsibilities:

Recruiters / honors college / cafeteria coordination (presentations, staffing of tables) and tracking.

Coordinates with Honors college and Recruitment to have tables staffed on the day at the team base camp locations. Organizes presentations on cafeteria stage with Honors college and Recruitment, tracks numbers of interactions between Honors college / recruiters and teams.

Coordinates student volunteers on the day (finding where they are needed, assigning functions, checking student volunteers in and out in excel file, collecting code of conduct forms.)

 

 

 

Administrator - Accounts & Facilities

Dr. Michael Nelson

Responsibilities:

Manages the account (type, deposits, fund level, reimbursements, payments).

Organizes and arranges swag for volunteers. Orders lunch.

Arranges and pays facilities (public safety, janitorial, IT if needed)

 

Heather Zimbler-DeLorenzo

 

Support - Quiz Bowl & Awards

Dr. Victor Ricchezza

Responsibilities:

Creates a quiz bowl (Fall semester), provides information on the format and topics by start of Spring semester for posting on the website. Runs the quiz bowl on the day (MC, grading / scoring).

Coordinates the awards ceremony. Prepares trophies and medals for handing out at the awards ceremony and acts as the MC if a higher administrator is not located.

Sets up the gym after device events ready for quiz bowl and awards ceremony.

 

 

 

Support - iCollege and Scoring

Dr. Mathes Dayananda

Responsibilities:

Oversees the scoring on the SciLympiad site by event supervisors.

Verifies all event scores were entered correctly by reviewing all written / electronic team scores and what was entered on the SciLympiad site.

Organizes the iCollege site for new events, maintaining old event files and access for current event supervisors.

 

 

 

Support - Welcome

Ms. Shamin Shah

Responsibilities:

Performs administrative duties (posting of signs around campus on Friday, check in with team coaches, set-up for lunch, collecting all supplies left in any room that was used, taking down signs Saturday afternoon.)

 

 

Support - Games

Taha Mzoughi

Responsibilities:

Organizes outdoor games in quad area to entertain competitors throughout the day (giant chess, skeet ball, etc.)

Plans games and must order or create or find appropriate games each time. Coordinates with student life to obtain some games / set-up for Science Olympiad owned games.
