Students must register with Mastering with their own account using your name as it is listed in iCollege. You cannot just use another students account (such as a friend who has already taken the course). Your name must match what is in iCollege. If you register under a different name and/or with an email that does not indicate who it is, then you will receive no credit (zero points) for all assignments that you complete. This situation will not be fixed at the end of the semester under any circumstance. The account MUST be in your name and registered with an email account that identifies you. Your student GSU email account should be used as that would identify you as the owner of that email account.

For lecture and laboratory courses you must purchase access for the lecture text book. Purchasing access for the lab manual will not work for either the lecture or laboratory courses. If you are only taking the lab course, then you will need to purchase Modified Mastering access for thelecture class. This applies to A&P1, A&P2, amd Microbiology. You will need access to Modified MasteringA&P for A&P courses and Modified Microbiology for Microbiology courses.

A single code for the Modified Mastering for the appropriate lecture course will work for both the lecture and laboratory courses. Signup for your lecture course first following the directions below. When you have access to that course sing into it. Then click to join another course and use the information for the lab course posted in iCollege. You can then switch between the 2 courses from the one Modified Mastering account.

Lecture courses and lab courses are separate courses and have separate assignments. Completing them in one course and not the other will result in grades of zero for the course that you did not complete the assignments for.

To upgrade temporary access to full access:

Pearson sets a registration date range of 2 weeks for Mastering based on the start date of the course listed by the instructor for when students can register for a Mastering account. That means students must register for Mastering within 2 weeks of the start of classes. You will not be allowed to register after the 2-week window. If you cannot afford the access code in the first two weeks, then you can register for free temporary access in that 2-week window.

Due to the 2-week registration period explained above, Dr Hollier sets the course start date to the official first day of class. This gives all students the full 2-weeks to register with Modified Mastering. The downside is that students cannot complete the Mastering registration or purchase of the eText book through Pearson before the official first day of classes.
